Guide to WoW Herbalism
By WOW ZonQuite certainly, Herbalism is a profession that requires a lot of patience. You might have to go to several lengths to get the herbs that you need and then if you have to make money out of them, you will have to look at places where you can sell them. Most people sell their herbs on the AH, but there are some other ways to sell them that are often overlooked.
Alchemists need herbs more than anyone else. So an alchemist will most likely be the best buyer for your herbs. In fact, it is a very good idea if you make Alchemy your allied profession along with Herbalism. Then you can sell things you’ve made with the herbs, which gets you more gold than just selling the herbs.
Keep a note of any buyer of your herbs you’ve found. You will get contact info of the person who buys from you. Make note of these, and also make note of the kind of herb they have purchased. This will help you in making quick money the next time round.
When you have more herbs of the same kind, you could communicate with the person and ask them if they need more of the herb. There’s a pretty good chance they will. Then you might be able to raise the price of the herbs you sell to them. Actually, you can often make more gold doing this than selling your herbs at the AH.
(By the way, here’s another site with a WoW Herbalism guide).
The herbs are found in WoW all across the world, but mainly in the hilly areas that are located close to the fields. A list of the fields where you can find the herbs up to level 100 is given below.

For these levels, you’ll mostly need Peacebloom, Silverleaf, and Earthroot. These herbs you can find very easily at the lower levels.
Most of the starting areas have these herbs, such as Dun Morogh, Tirisfal Glades, Elwynn Forest, and Eversong Woods.

If you have the setting Click to Move, it really helps. Under Options, select Video Options. The beauty of this setting is that you can jump automatically to an herb in the distance and loot it, just by right-clicking.
It also helps to have the Gatherer addon installed, which lets you record locations of herbs on your mini map.
If you’d rather buy herbs instead of gather them, check out this World of Warcraft gold guide.
