A Look At The Upcoming Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker on Playstation Portable and PSP Go
By WOW ZonBoth the Sony PSP and PSP Go are set to welcome a new game come this Spring with the release of Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker. The lengendary gaming series returns to the portable system in this long awaited title. Remember we have experienced Metal Gear Solid on the PSP before, with Portable Ops one or two years ago, but this will be the first incarnation which is directed by the genius behind the franchise; Hideo Kojima, and this could only be a great portent.
The game takes place after the events of Metal Gear Solid 3, with players returning to play as the original Snake, who has now become ‘Big Boss’. Unlike with Portable Ops, the game is considered official canon within the Metal Gear Solid franchise universe. The gameplay follows the basis set out by previous games, with a large emphasis on stealth and espionage. The over-the-shoulder angle of Metal Gear 4 debuts in Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, making a mixture of the finest components of prior games.
Peace Walker’s gameplay centres on a co-op core, following plenty of today’s games in placing emphasis on teamwork. This is implemented thr oughout Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker in both solo campaigns and multi player games, with a variety of different ‘Snakes’ to choose from. These variations range from a stealth bias to heavy weapons expert, permitt ing players to co-ordinate a well balanced group.
This game is the first of two titles to be released into the Metal Gear franchise over the next twelve months, with the Raiden-centric Metal Gear Solid Rising to be made for next generation consoles later on. Kojima productions have created a brilliant title by the name of Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, combining all classic parts of prior titles into an innovative new gameplay. Its graphics and audio have been polished to the highest calibre and the plot sounds as if it will be, as always, rather epic.
